Board of Directors

Heather Boyle

Heather Boyle began her involvement with the Bravehearts in 2009 when her oldest daughter, Allison, joined the varsity team as a sophmore.  The following year, Heather took over the administration of the team as eight seniors graduated and Allison was the only varsity player returning.  Heather served as the main administrator of the team until December of 2012 when she asked Belinda Roettger to come on board to help.  Heather now serves as the financial and web site administrator for the team.  Heather is married to Damon Boyle and has four children.  All three of her daughters have been Braveheart players and her oldest now plays at the collegiate level with Anderson University in Indiana.  "We feel blessed to be a part of the Braveheart volleyball family!"

Thom Frock

Thom Frock is passionate about the game of volleyball.  He began his coaching career in 2001 as an assistant boys coach and has continued to serve in various coaching roles ever since.  In 2012 and 2013 he served as the head coach for the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams at Mt. Airy Christian Academy (MACA) and has also served the past four years as a club coach with the Carroll Vipers Volleyball Club.  While he enjoyed his time at MACA, Thom felt God was leading him in a different direction.  In April of 2014, Thom was approached by the Bravehearts to consider serving as the Coach Mentor for the team. It was this opportunity to combine his passion for the game and teaching the fundamentals with his desire to impact players for Christ that he accepted this role.  Coach Thom has been married to his bride, Cheryl, for over 25 years and lives in Carroll County.

Belinda Roettger

Belinda Roettger serves as the Athletic Director for the Bravehearts.  In 2013, she led the transition to the FCA teams ministry and established the Leadership Board.  Belinda is passionate about the impact of nutrition on athletic performance/recovery and is currently working toward a Plant Based Nutrition Certificate associated with Cornell University.  She and her husband, Tom, have been married 34 years and have three children.  Her daughters, Sarah and Michaela, began playing for the Bravehearts in 2011.  Sarah now plays volleyball for Misericordia University.   Belinda is awed by how God is moving through FCA and the Bravehearts for His Kingdom.  “We serve an amazing God, and I am grateful to be serving Him in this capacity.  I am also humbled and inspired by the commitment and passion of my fellow board members for serving Christ through athletics.”

Mary Walton

Mary Walton has been married to Aaron Walton for 17 years. They have one daughter, Sarah, who loves the sport of volleyball. Mary got involved with the Bravehearts during the 2012 season when her daughter joined the team and this year became involved with the administrative aspect of the program when she became the Parent Liaison to the Board. Responsible for the creation and administration of the Spring 2014 clinic, Mary is looking forward to growing the program over the next few years. "I love that my daughter and all of the Braveheart girls get to use their God-given talents to represent Jesus on and off the court. I believe we have a higher standard to uphold and sporting events are the perfect forum for exhibiting teamwork, integrity and compassion."

Brandon Johnson
Elizabeth Westgate

Brandon Johnson was introduced to the Bravehearts in December of 2012 when the team was looking for an oversight.  Once the decision was made to become an FCA team, Brandon stepped in to serve on the board as the liason between the Braveheart team and FCA.  He currently serves as the Area Director for Carroll County Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He has been on FCA staff since January 2012.  It is a result of his involvement with FCA that he came to know the Lord in 2004 prior to his high school graduation from Westminster High School in 2005.  Brandon lettered in football and lacrosse while at Westminster High School.  He continued to play lacrosse at Robert Morris University where he earned his bachelors degree in 2009. Brandon lives with his wife Ashli in Finksburg, MD.

Elizabeth Westgate started playing the game of volleyball in fourth grade and has not stopped.  Through high school, club, and the collegiate level, a passion and desire to learn, be on the court, and stay involved in the game has remained. Moving from Ohio to Maryland in 2013 and being introduced to the Bravehearts shortly after has been a wonderful adventure full of excitement. Serving as the FCA Braveheart Character Coach is an experience she is both grateful for and thrilled to pursue. It is a wonderful opportunity to combine her passion for volleyball, students, and Jesus.  God is the creator of fun and competition. There is no better way to maximize both of those things than on the volleyball court! Elizabeth works at Carroll Hospital Center and is getting married in January 2015.
